And the winners of the "Show Us Your Nightstand" contest are ...

We are each back in our respective homes after the New England Independent Booksellers Association (NEIBA) trade show. I hope you enjoyed the little peek into our world that Michael provided with his high-tech mobile blogging.

I will do a round-up in the next day or so reporting on the books at NEIBA that got me most excited, but I don't want to wait to announce the winners of our "Show Us Your Nightstand" contest.

First, the 4 random winners. I used a random number generator to choose the winners.

Janet Reid and her pink octopus have won a copy of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson, which I talked about it podcast episode #12.

Mark's nightstand gets applause (but no extra consideration) for housing The Black Lizard Big Book of Pulps, which is a fun and fantastic (and huge) collection of good old-fashioned pulp mysteries. Nice taste! Mark has won his own copy of the book that I am currently reading -- Say Goodbye by Lisa Gardner.

Susanne is the lucky winner of an autographed copy of I See You Everywhere by Julia Glass. Susanne is a woman after my own heart -- the top of her rather ample nightstand pile features Ian McEwan's Saturday, one of my favorites. Susanne, I know you'll enjoy your prize.

The final random winner is Alix. I spot Murakami and Kate Atkinson on her nightstand, showing that she has excellent taste. Alix will receive a copy of The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff, a book that Michael discussed in podcast episode #10.

Our Grand Prize winner is KC Dyer and her mapped-out nightstand. Michael and I loved the annotations and the Powell's Map on the top of the stack! KC will receive an autographed ARC of Blindspot by Jane Kamensky and Jill Lepore, a book that I loved. It comes out in December and I can't wait to tell you all about it!

Thanks so much to all who entered!
