I think we've given you plenty of ideas for the book lovers in your life. We've given you book ideas galore in our Books on the Nightstand Holiday Gift Guide. For those of you who have already downloaded it, thank you, and thank you so much for your very nice comments. We've given you some ideas for non-book gifts, too, just in case.
Now here's a gift for you to buy yourself. OK, I just found it today, or I would have included it earlier. But by now it's probably too late to order in time for whatever holiday you celebrate, so that's a good excuse to treat yourself.
It's my favorite t-shirt ever, and it's only available from Vroman's, a very cool bookstore in California. (In case you can't see the image, it says "Don't judge a book by its movie".) It's available in a men's edition and a women's edition. I will be ordering one for myself. I am pretty sure that the shirts are made by American Apparel, so that means that they run small. I usually order a size larger than normal in AA shirts.
With so many movies coming out soon that are based on my favorite books (Revolutionary Road, The Road, Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Reader), I think I really do need this shirt.
